Elisa & Adam

Elisa Lee and Adam Hinshaw are a commercial and creative partnership formed in the mid 90’s era of CD-Rom multimedia. Continuing to work together today, they create innovative and interactive new media projects.

Their complementary skills in interaction design, visual communication, systems design and software development make for a strong creative, conceptual and technical partnership. Elisa and Adam share a love for fun and immersive user experiences combining the newest of technologies with the most playful of concepts. They believe that it has to look good, be easy to use and put a smile on your face.

Elisa Lee

Elisa is an award-winning creative director and designer (AMI, AIMIA, MILIA) who has worked in digital media since the early 90's.

Freelancing primarily in visual communication and interaction design, her main interests lie in the creation of engaging interactive audio-visual installations which promote social interaction.

Passionate about fostering emerging design talent, Elisa tutors and lectures in media convergence, interaction design and visualising research in the Faculty of Design at the University of Technology, Sydney. In 2011 she initiated a subject with Google, Sydney now in its fourth year. Her students' work has been published in Demonstrating Relevance: Response-ability, Meme-fest, 2010.

Elisa returned to Sydney in 2004 after five years in Barcelona where she formed part of area3, an award-winning hypermedia group focusing on the fusion of design, sound and technology. She was also course coordinator of Digital Design at the European Institute of Design, Barcelona and involved in projects including the creation of a mixed media audiovisual show for the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Elisa graduated with first-class honours from Visual Communications at the University of Technology, Sydney, in 1997. Recently, she was invited to speak about Data Poetry as part of Sydney Design, 2011 and her work will be included in the Creative Cities exhibition at the 2013 Kaohsiung Design Festival, Taiwan.

Adam Hinshaw

Adam Hinshaw is a creative industries software developer and systems designer. A graduate from the University of New South Wales’ College of Fine Arts, he has operated a successful business in interactive multimedia since 1999. Implementing dependable solutions for advertising, fine arts, online, museum, events, film and television; Adam is known for his technical proficiency, creative perspective and vast experience in the design and deployment of engaging digital interactive experiences.

Adam is a regular collaborator with new media artists and contributor to the international art and technology festivals: Ars Electronica and ISEA (International Symposium on Electronic Art). Most recently in 2013 for ISEA Sydney on the work #capillary, a large-scale public interactive installation generated from crowd sourced imagery responding to urban mobility and transit in Sydney.

A partnership with artist and academic Brad Miller has seen the development of a series of innovative new media installations and software frameworks. These employ the sophisticated motion tracking of people to drive the experience. Including: plasma_flow shown at Sydney’s Vivid Lights Festival 2012, and mediated_moments shown in Beijing Design Week at the Chinese Museum of Digital Art, Beijing 2012.
